I think rather than "shrouded in mystery", the reason why a god is what they are is because they're incomprehensible to humans.

So every single action... we're not supposed to understand. Just accept it instead. Sure, we can question them, but we will never get an answer—or at least one that would satisfy us.

It's what they tell you in the church all the time, I think. You can't question God's timing, or the decisions made, you just need to know it's all in his plan. You can pray about it, but there's no promises. We aren't meant to understand, just believe.

[ it is probably increasingly obvious that jonas is a god that has beef with god in general still. ]

But blind faith isn't always the way. It's hard to blame anyone who wants to take matters into their own hands.
